Stony Lane Book Award

Our annual school-wide book battle held during Reading Week.

2018 Winner:  After the Fall: How Humpty Dumpty Got back up Again by Dan Santat

Started in 2003, our Stony Lane Book Award battle takes place each spring during Reading Week.  Mrs. Marshall begins scouring professional journals and review sites each fall, putting together a list of new and note-worthy potential nominees.  Next, staff volunteers meet during the winter to read, discuss, and narrow the field of candidates to just 5 hopeful titles.  Finally, during Reading Week our entire school community takes part in the fun of sharing books, lively discussions, campaigning, and voting for their favorite.  Join us by reading along at home and stopping by our polling place on voting day!  All are welcome; and we even accept absentee ballots during Reading Week for those voters who know they will miss Voting Day.
